Wolf Creek Ride & Reggae 100k

Join us for our inaugural Pagosa Springs cycling event on July 31st, 2010!

You’ve probably heard of Wolf Creek Pass—more than 400 inches of snow each winter and elevation of 10,857 feet. in summer when the snow melts this pass is an epic Rocky Mountain Ride! The road is great, featuring twisting, turning, grinding grades that pitch upwards of 10%. This route has been laid out in typical GECKO fashion, netting a 100k ride (and 5,500' of vertical) that will take more time and test your lungs more than your typical century ride. We also have a short (46 mile) direct route option.

Why just ride when you can ride and relax? Pound the pedals to almost 11,000 ft. then groove on back to the park for an afternoon of soaking in the river, enjoying amazing reggae music from renowned artist Pato Banton, sip a cold beer and enjoy great food! This family friendly event is just the way to chill on a mountain day in July. Ride hard, rest easy and support a great cause in the process. Spend the night in one of our great hotels and soak in our world famous hot springs. Pagosa Springs, Colorado is located at a cool 7,200 ft.

The Festival portion of our event is family friendly and put together for you to relax and enjoy. The festival begins at noon in town park right at the finish area. Several food vendors will be on hand with everything from smoothies and sandwiches to burgers and fries. Breckenridge Brewery is a primary sponsor and will be here with their amazing brews (yes you have to buy them...) but cool and refreshing none the less! Reggae artist Pato Banton rocks You can check him out here http://www.patobanton.com and music will be provide from 1:30- 6:00 p.m.
Music Schedule: Brooks I 12:30-2p.m., Dj Stony Times 2-3 & 5-6 and Pato Banton 3-5p.m.

For the kids we will have a "bouncy room" snow cone vendor, a face painter and other cool activities to keep them entertained while you chill. The San Juan river is a few feet away and the perfect place to cool off your burnt quads. The festival wraps up at 6p.m. A short walk over to one of the three Hot Springs locations would be the perfect way to soak away the day.
