Sponsorship of the RUNColorado series is one of the primary fund raising vehicles used to sustain the GECKO scholarship program. We invite you to come out and run to fight Nature Deficit Disorder and give kids from all walks of life a chance to experience the power of nature. If you can't run, walk. If you don't want to walk, volunteer. If you can't volunteer, donate!

The 2009 RUNColorado Pagosa Peak Trail Series consists of three mountain trail races: Run one or run the series... If you run the series you will be eligible for series awards and cash! The series consists of two options, long course or short. Long course would be Marathon, 50k, 15mile. Short course would be 1/2 marathon, 1/2 marathon, 7mile. If you'd like to run all three races but mix it up that's great. We'll give you the discounted rate, but will take you out of the series points. If several of you sign up for the same 'combo' we'd consider adding a series class. Cash awards will go to top three men and top three women in the long and short course options. Series awards will be given to long and short course option age group top 3 runners.

Each participant that signs up for a single race will get a training program (PDF) from the coaches at Carmichael Training Systems (CTS). Each race training program consists of Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels along with tips and explanations for having a succesful event. As an added bonus people signing up for the race series will save 15% off their entry fees, receive a training program to prepare them for each race, as well as a free individual consultation with a CTS Coach. The Turkey Track Trail kicks off the season with an awesome, early season marathon and 1/2 marathon Plenty of scenic single track, rolling hills and mellow climbs through Aspens, Ponderosa Pines and open forest. (O.k. also rocks, streams, roots and perhaps a little mud).

July 18th, 2009
The Devil Mountain 50k Ultra. One hell of a run! ups the ante with bigger climbs, higher elevations and a hell of a lot of single track through some of the region's old growth forests. Beautiful, remote and the perfect mid-summer primer for Leadville or Wasatch. (More than 5,500' of climbing on epic mountain trail).

September 26th, 2009
The Mountain Chile Cha-Cha wraps up the season with the famous Pagosa Springs music and chili festival. Celebrate the series, the season, trail running and getting kids outside on Pagosa's killer downtown trail course. Beautiful, challenging and remote, all right downtown.
